AE Tutorial

Now that you have your planet (Click on Bases, then Home Planet), click on
structures and click upgrade next to Metal Refineries. Then scroll down,
there should be a queue structures button and a list of buildings you can
queue. Queue up 3 metal refineries. Note that you may have to queue a power
plant or an urban structure in between them. This is because each building
takes up a certain amount of energy and 1 population. You can see those
stats in the top of the page. Always build the power plant that gives more
energy per. Otherwise you're just wasting space. Add these only when you
need them. Always remember to keep your queue list full, especially if
you're going somewhere or going to sleep. The queue list will finish by
itself unless you run out of credits or you messed the queue list up. And
when you do run out of credits, the queue list activates when you do have
the credits to build.

Add a research lab to the queue list. When that's built, go to research and
research Computer. Then queue 1 more Computer and then 4 Energy. While
you're doing that, build a spaceport, then a shipyard. When your 2 computer
research finishes, build a robotics factory.

This is the basics of what you should do on all your planets, except for the
research labs and stuff.

Meaning, that after all this, you should have this:

Structures
1 Research Lab
4 Metal Refineries
1 Robotics Factory
1 Shipyard
1 Spaceport

In Queue:
Metal Refinery
Spaceport
Robotics Factory
Shipyard
Research Lab

And repeat. Add power plants and urban structures whenever necessary too.
The specific order is because when you only focus on upgrading one
structure, the cost steadily gets higher and your economy and construction
won't be able to handle it. Alternating structures makes your economy and
base stats grow faster and easier.

Research

2 Computer

In Queue:

5 Energy

Go for 8 Energy if you can. You'll need that and 5 Research labs. Don't
build them all at once, but slip them in the queue line every once in a
while. Get them by the end of the day.

Now, this is what I expect if you started early:

5 Research Labs
7 Metal Refineries
4 Robotics
4 Shipyards
4 Spaceports

3 Energy
2 Computer

Get 5 more energy in queue.

If you started late, try to get that in queue and rest up for tomorrow.

Second day, time to get to work. It's more building and research and if you
were active, you might run out of credits today. This is what you should get
by the end of the day, following the rule of alternating structure building:

8 Research Labs
10 Metal Refineries
6 Robotics Factories
6 Shipyards
6 Spaceports

Queue 2 shipyards and as many metal refineries as you can before you go to
sleep. I'd say 12 metal refineries on the planet is good.

8 Energy
2 Computer
4 Stellar Drive

If you didn't get 4 stellar drive, you're either bankrupt or not active.
After you get 4 stellar drive, queue a Warp Drive. If you have 4 stellar but
can't find Warp Drive, this is because you don't have 8 research labs.

If you're bankrupt, don't worry, the queue list will do your work for you
while you're asleep.

Day 3, now's the time to start building Outpost Ships. These require 8
Shipyards, 1 Warp Drive, and 100 credits on hand. Yes, the sole purpose of
the above is to get Outpost Ships as early as possible. If you were able to
get these on the second night, you're way ahead, and you have a pretty good
chance of getting 10 planets before your account expires.

Outpost ships let you build new bases on other uninhabited planets. These
are the suggested ones to build on:

Crystallines - Rare, but worth getting. I prefer crystallines with 3 solar
and 5 fertility, but those are really rare. Frankly, I don't really care
about the stats of them, but if they don't have those stats, you might have
some problems with developing it.

Asteroids - Not as rare as Crystallines, but they're good to work with. Its
only drawback is its small area. I'd also prefer 3 solar and 5 fertility on
this, because 4 fertility really hurts when you need to upgrade level 17
urban structures. These aren't as rare, so I do suggest finding these stats.

Rocky - Pretty common, and are pretty good production bases. I prefer 3
solar and 6 fertility, but 4 solar and 5 fertility work fine too. I also
prefer it being a planet instead of a moon.

Metallic - Also common, and are also pretty good production bases. Don't pay
much attention to the 1 crystal, as it's really not worth it. 3 solar and 5
fertility is what I'd go for. I'd also prefer a planet over a moon for this
one as well.

If you started on a Rocky or Metallic, I'd also suggest an Arid or Earthly
planet for your 10th planet.

When you're setting up your new base, you'll notice there's a fee. For your
first base, it'll cost you 50 credits. Every base after the last will cost
twice what it used to. Like so:

And so on. Your tenth planet will cost you 12800 credits. That sounds like a
lot, but don't worry. You'll be able to do it if you're pretty active.

Once you've set up your base, follow the instructions from day 1 and 2,
except without the research labs. These stats are what you should attain on
all your planets, regardless of type:

12 Metal Refineries
8 Robotics
8 Shipyards
10 Spaceports

As for research, aim for this and this only:

10 Energy
10 Computer
8 Laser
4 Stellar Drive
1 Warp Drive

This will unlock Economic Centers and Nanite Factories. Build up to level 3
of both on all your bases. Remember to alternate.

I expect you to get a total of 3 bases by the end of the day and 2 more
outpost ships in construction for tomorrow.

Day 4, you should be starting to really rack in the credits with an economy
of over 100. Use those outpost ships to get 2 more planets. You should have
around 200 economy by the end of the day, maybe a little less. Build 2 more
outpost ships for tomorrow.

Day 5, you should have the credits to build your 6th base, and construct
your 7th base by nightfall, which costs 1600 and 3200 credits. Remember to
get all the above stats for all your planets. By the end of the day you
should have about 400 economy or more. Build 3 more outpost ships.

Day 6, this is the crucial day, and you should be able to build your 8th and
9th base in the afternoon and tomorrow morning. You must have around 650
economy and stop all construction and research a couple hours before your
upgraded account ends.

Day 7, spend all day waiting for 12800 credits and if you're worried,
recycle some structures. Then build your 10th base. Feel free to do whatever
you want from then on.

 

Alternative (non-upgraded accounts = 9 bases)

You can aim at 9 instead of 10 planets if you'd like to have stronger defenses on them at the end of day 7 and higher technology

At the end of day 3 I had total of 4 bases. It's possible even if your starting planet is not a great one. Advantages of having 4 instead of 3 bases at this point are numerous. It will boost your economy and if you aim at 9 planets with great defenses instead of 10 with lots of economy - this will make it possible.

First 5 days you must concentrate on getting your economy as fast as possible to the 500 (you need to have 8 planets, 3 of them asteroids). Then, concentrate on research and get Ion turrets. Research ONLY what's needed to have Ion turrets. Look at the "tables" link at Astro Empires to see what techs you need. Start building them at the end of day 6 and during your seventh day colonize your 9th planet.

So you will have 9 planets, 8 of them with Ion turrets and ninth will have them soon enough. Build some fighters on all your planets (50 to 150, later increase that number) to take care of smaller attacks and protect your trurrets.

It's strongly recommended that lowest defenses that you build be Plasma turrets, and preferably Ion. Superiority of static defenses over the fleet for protecting the planet is clearly seen

Creatures for southern continent: Falconcats

Falconcats are mysterious creatures. They are unbelievably smart they live just about anywhere an the southern Continent. they have the body and tail of a cat but the head feet and wings of a falcon. their diet is, strangly enough, all vegatarian.

The myths swirling around these creatures are deep and dark. it is said that they are creatures left over from the war with the Draconis. if tamed these animals can be taught to do just about anything from catching small mamels to spying and even fighting for an army. but no one has the courage to catch and tame one.the only known Falconcat to be "tamed" is Fletcher,Zephyer Po'loma's Falconcat.

their colors range from any color of a cat and falcon.There are no unnatural  colors like blue and green, pink and purple.

they are very strong and good fighters as well as excellent flyers. there size is varies from the size of a small falcon to that of a large eagle. these creatures can talk,but can understand more then they can speak. fletcher has been heard talking to Zephyer Po'loma "Flame" in a strange mixure of human words and whistles. like this" Sreeech!.... follow .....eeeeeeegh.......   mountain.... thoooooth!.............." and so on.

Zephyer means "west wind" Ignacia means "Fiery ardent" and Po'loma is her clan name and it means "Bow"

 

Nickname: Flame

 

Race & Clan: Centaur  clan:Po'loma

Eye Color: outer edge being dark brown, fades to bronze, to pupil being copper

 

Hair Color: on human part is a very deep Red,so that in shadow it looks brown,but in sunlight it shines a brillant, shiny, rich Red w/light blonde highlights running from scalp to end (which is the horse-part back)

 

Fur or Skin Color: Skin is a very deep tan, so deep that it too is slightly red in color (also known as a Pergiroff)

 

(If applicable) Special Body Part Type & Color (wings or horse body): horse body color is red roan with hind quarters cream with red or(chestnut) spots (which is odd for the centaurs.) legs are a brilliant red like the human hair color. Tail is a smooth,flowing, rich cream with red and chestnut highlights. tail only reaches to hock level on legs. her hieght is 6 feet 5 inches from head to hoof. her hooves are verticly striped dark cream and chestnut.

  

(If applicable) Special Body Markings (ex: tattoo, birthmark, scar, etc.): on her left hip their is a brand that is the symbol of her clan, it is a Bow with an Arrow fitted to the string drawn back pointing in the direction she faces. on her right forarm thier is a tatto that is made from real copper,the pattern is a knife,unsheathed gleaming in the sunlight ready to pierce the flesh of whatever enemy awaits it. from her left jaw bone down to her shoulder their is a long thin scar. product of which i will explain below.

 

Personality:she is a Quiet,cool (surpriseingly for she is a "redhead")and collected person. her anger is not easy to arouse but if it is, it is"deadly". and she won't just stop at looks. she rarely talkes in public,and has gained a reputation as "Dangerous". she has no known friends and is always a loner.  she does enjoy a good joke but no one would ever know for she always laughs on the inside and never lets her emotion show. she is a very clever person and has "ears the size of mountains" as the saying goes.

 

Occupation:she is a hired out hunter (like a bounty hunter) and spy. once employed, she is loyal until death or until the job is done. then she would have no quams in going and working for the other side. but she would never work against another centaur.

 

Home Town/City & Area: the southern continent. does not live near any known city or town lives alone in the wooded and stoney mountains of the area. near where the beautiful but dangerous caverns are. at the top of the mountain she lives on you can see the ocean. the stone in the area is mostly rough rusty sandstoneish color.Therefor she blends right in, it matching her colorings. she has many hideouts and it is said that she knows the entire continent by heart she knows how to slip away from a stalker without leaving a trace. and sneak up on prey with making a sound.her main "hideout" is a very large cave with many tunnels leading out. but the main opening is behind a large waterfall in a valley far hidden in the mounains. no one knows the locaion of this hide out.

 

Weaponry Training: Spy class. Flame was a promising student but was expelled fom the compound before finishing her training.   

 

Favored Weaponry: Long bow and  large knife and smaller throwing knife also at the end of her long hair (which is always in a long, heavy,thick braid) which is a fearsome weapon by itself,tied to the end are a dozen little knive heads which, if she were to swing her head around, would plunge in and greaviously injure if not kill the oponent. the knive heads as well as the large knife and arrow heads are made from ice-gold the shaft of the arrows and bow are made from a hard but beautiful wood that is a gorgeous, rich, glossy techure the wood is dark brown and always looks as though someone has just finished polishing it. the hilt of her knife is a rusty red, much like sandstone handle. with little fossiles of fish and other long forgotten species. her smaller throwing knife is made of fire-gold.her trophy from a deadly fight with a huntsman(explained below). the hilt is made from steel with gold tree designs built in.

 

Armor Type & Company/Squadron:is not part of any army.has no loyalty except to her species and employers. she wears very little armor. all that she has is a layered leather back peace (to protect her from her braids) and a leather arm gaurd on her left arm.

 

Clothing [Only mention abnormal or specialty clothing (ex: cape, jewelry, etc.), otherwise: give color(s)]: her sleaveless leather jerkin is a dark creamed tanish color. her hair binding is the same color. she has a deep,thick, reddish brown, long, coreton cloak, that she wears during the terrible stroms that rock her mountain. it has a very deep hood and persons looking in cannot see her face.the claok goes all the way over her horse hindquarters and falls to the hock and knees of her legs. it is clasped in front with leather tie strings. her head band is black with red figures(bows,arrows and knives,and a big sword right in the middle)

 

Personal Information (ex: married, single, orphan, etc.):she is single. her mother died when she was very young (about 5) her father, depressed and lonely shunned his daughter for ahout a year. then, relizing he still had a family, her got her (at the age of 7) into a training compound were she quickly advanced. unfortunatly her father was killed in one of the many scermiches that happen on their continent.

  

History (optional): when Flame was very small she was discoverd to have exseptional speed (even for a centaur) and soon could outrun alll the others. which got her the nickname "windy". however she was known for her very deadly temper.( which got her expelled after her father died). A fellow trainee once insulted her very viciously(the details i do not have) she became so enraged that they both began to fight and that the other (a male Huntsman) was the unlucky looser of the fight and lost not just the fight and his priecous knife, but his life.but he gave her the long scar on her neck from his fire-gold knife to remember her bittersweet victory. after that she became a loner and moved out in to the wild. that was at the age of 15. That was how she got her nickname and her reputation.

  

Hobbies:she is a very good "tracker" player although there are few who would play it with her. when they do, she is usually the prey and is so good at the game that once it went on for 6 months before the tracker finally gave up,claiming that she cheated.although she did not as I said before she did not talk much in public but it is said that alone in the wood or the mountain she talkes to herself and even sings to herself. those who have heard her (and they are few) says she has a hauntingly beautiful voice.except when in mid-battle cry. the only friend she has is a strange creature. A male Falconcat named Fletcher. (this being the southern continent there are many strange creatures) he has the body and tail of a cat but has the head,wings and feet of a Falcon. this creature has an acute intelligence and can understand a good portion of what the people on this continent say.and can imitate what they hear so they are much like a parrot but smarter. it is said that Flame and Fletcher       will often sing duets together.Fletcher's colors are dark brown with lighter brown stripes on his cat parts.his eyes are glowing red. these creatures because of how smart they are,are looked at as being "evil creatures of the Devil" So Flame's reputation grows. Fletcher follows Flame every where she goes and if not riding on her shouler he is far above human eye sight in the air using his "eagle eyes" to spot potential enemys. one more hobbie that Flame has is she has a wooden flute that she will play in her Hideouts. it is made from the same wood as her arrows and bow.

ok, so things have been super-crazy around here, and I have had very little time to even think about this stuff, much less work on it, but I couldn't sleep, and so was looking through and found afew things to address:

-1)  The charcter info and various posted characters are for a book I hope to eventually get to write.  I do have a basic storyline in my head, but as of yet have gotten very little even written down, much less gotten anything worth posting yet.  I have been 'working' on this project off on and on for around 4 -5 years now.

-2.) The dragon quiz, a question was asked if I took this stuff seriously.  My answer depends on what stuff was being referred to, since I don't know, I'll answer with both possible options I saw:
          - That I am actually part dragon: No, this is doubtful at best and absolutely ludricous at worst
          - That dragons did/do exist: Here I would give a definite yes.  Cryptozoology is another hobby of mine (though one I haven't been able to pursue much over the last three years), but from what I have found, I'd say it's likely that dragons did at some time exist and may even have some small existance in today's world.

I think that was everything I immidiatly saw.  The schedule is still insanly busy, so I doubt I'll have any real change on this poarticular site for a while, but we shall see
